This past weekend I was fortunate enough to be a part of the amazing crew of The Astronaut's Son. Although we did hit a few bumps in the road, it was incredible to see how each member of the crew functioned as most of them have worked together on previous projects prior to this one. They really did run like a well oiled machine, anticipating what they needed to get done. While working on this set I was the Script Supervisor (Scripty), which means that I made sure that the film maintained continuity, kept track of how many takes we had for each scene, how long each take was, if we had covered everything in the script, and whether or not the take was good or bad. It sounds complex and going into this film I was a bit nervous as I had never been a Scripty before, but it is one of my favorite jobs now. I found it to be relaxing, as I enjoy order, being able to keep track, and pay close attention to the detail to make sure each scene can flow properly without losing continuity. This really was a rewarding experience and I am so thankful that I was able to work with such an amazing group of people.
